Marie-Louise Roy: In Tune with the Inner Self: Abstract
Marie-Louise Roy: In Tune with the Inner Self is a case study by Joëlle Piffault and Louis Jacques Filion.
Since childhood, Marie-Louise Roy has been known for her energy and creativity. Over the years, she learned to channel her energy by attending rebirthing workshops – she also researched her family tree, not to find out who her ancestors were, but to uncover what she describes as the “family secrets” and understand who she “really is.” As a student, she expressed her creativity through dressmaking, but it was to architecture, her long-standing passion, that she was drawn when selecting a career.
After graduating, she worked for some well-known architectural firms, but despite interesting projects, found the workplace mentality in a male-dominated profession difficult to cope with. Weary of some of the attitudes she encountered, she launched her own practice based on an unusual combination of architecture, urban planning, environment, and development. She also decided to make use of her years of psycho-corporal therapeutic training and began offering workshops where participants could learn about their inner selves. Over the years, Marie-Louise has combined creativity, spirituality, and professional expertise. She is a published writer (Paroles Angéliques) and an accomplished musician with several CDs to her name.
