The case provides an overview of the microfinance sector in Lebanon, with special focus on the microfinance institution (MFI) Al Majmoua. It presents information on Al Majmoua’s background, business model, partnerships, views on risks, use of ICT, socio-economic impact, political environment, views on cross-lending and market trends. It discusses the challenges which Mr. Youssef Fawaz, Executive Director and founding board member of the Al Majmoua, is facing.
