Fired Because of a $20 Loan: Abstract
An excellent sales counsellor at a high-end boutique borrows $20 from the till to take one of her clients out for a coffee. She forgets to replace the money. Under the company’s zero-tolerance policy, borrowing from the till is prohibited. As a result, the sales counsellor is fired for breach of trust. She appeals the decision and sues her former employer for wrongful dismissal.
