Mrs. Pham Thi Huan and Health Crises: Abstract
Case A describes Mrs. Pham Thi Huan’s extraordinary journey from humble beginnings to financial success, as well as the avian flu epidemic’s disastrous impact on Vietnam’s poultry industry in 2003. The case also describes the beginning of her social entrepreneurship process, from the moment she decided to assume a role in solving the crisis to her discovery of a business opportunity.
Case B shows how Mrs. Ba Huan’s efforts to save farms during the bird flu crisis propelled her family business to astonishing success, both in terms of profitability and social impact. It also details how the COVID-19 pandemic forced Ba Huan JSC to rethink its business model.
