Description

Hiring a Corporate Training Instructor: Divergent Interpretations of Selection Criteria: Abstract

Corporate Linguistic Consulting specializes in business-oriented linguistic training for government employees and is seeking to hire a new instructor. A three-member selection committee has established a short list of candidates. The evaluation process consists in ranking each candidate based on four evaluation criteria. The HR coordinator and the administrative manager selected one candidate, while the linguistic coordinator selected another. During the deliberation, each member stood by their decision. Consequently, the Director was hesitant to confirm the hiring and requested time to reflect on the issues raised during the meeting.
