Objectives
Based on a 5 step stress management process, the “Stress Management” training kit comprises 5 sessions (30 to 45 min each) and a follow-up meeting. This follow-up meeting is based on a stress-coping framework that aims to foster daily stress management arising from the caregiver role. It includes the practitioner’s guide and the caregiver’s workbook to simplify individual meetings at the caregiver’s home. Evaluated by many caregivers and practitioners from Montreal CLSCs, the training kit provides concrete tools that help caregivers develop skills to:
- Identify seemingly stressful or difficult situations
- Distinguish between controllable aspects or not
- Use adaptive strategies adjusted to known stressors (ex. Problem resolution, cognitive reframing, stress symptoms management…)
For who?
Healthcare professionals, associations, agencies or practitioners that want to accompany caregivers of an elderly at home.
