Stephen Brown is Professor of Political Science at the University of Ottawa. He is the author of numerous publications on foreign aid, editor of Struggling for Effectiveness: CIDA and Canadian Foreign Aid (McGill-Queen’s University Press, 2012) and co-editor of The Securitization of Foreign Aid (Palgrave Macmillan, 2 016). H e h as published widely on democratization and political violence in Sub-Saharan Africa, and is currently working on issues relating to aid effectiveness and policy coherence for development.
