Jean-François Simard est microbiologiste de formation et possède également un MBA en gestion pharmaceutique. Il a œuvré pendant 12 années à différentes positions de gestion dans le secteur biotechnologique et alimentaire notamment chez Medicago et Atrium Innovations où il a travaillé en financement public et privé, en développement et stratégie d’affaires et en fusion acquisition. Il est à l'Université Laval depuis plus de 6 ans ou il a d’abord travaillé en valorisation des technologies des centres hospitaliers affiliés à l'Université et avec la société de valorisation de l’université (SOVAR) et comme conseiller en développement de la recherche pour les différents programmes de partenariat avec l’industrie avant d’accepter le poste de directeur du Bureau de Liaison Université Milieu de l’Université Laval.

Jean-François Simard is a microbiologist by training and also owns a MBA in pharmaceutical management. He worked for 12 years in various management positions in the biotech and food sectors including Medicago and Atrium Innovations, where he was actively involved in public and private financing, business development and business strategy and in mergers and acquisitions. He has been at Université Laval for more than 6 years where he first worked in technology transfer for affiliated hospital centers and with the university's valorization company (SOVAR) and as a technology officer dedicated to various industry partnership programs prior to be named Director of the Unviersité Medium Liaison Office.
